Now, a little more about my career

Education

I attended a technical high school in France before finding my way to philosophy.

I earned a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Bordeaux and taught the subject in France for more than 15 years. My thesis was titled “Morals and Religion in the Work of Nietzsche.”

I also obtained a degree in Hebrew. While teaching philosophy, I was trained in Gestalt therapy and received certification from the Institut Français de Gestalt-Thérapie (French Institute of Gestalt Therapy).

Author

I have written more than ten books in French. Most have been published by Grancher Publications (Paris, France), although some special editions and shorter works have been released by various other publishers over the years.

Now writing in English, I am proud to be the first French author published by Llewellyn Publications, one of the world’s leading publishers dedicated to expanding human potential, spiritual consciousness, and planetary awareness.

Several of my books have been translated and published in other languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Russian, Polish, and Greek.

Some of my books in English have also been translated and published by Academia Platonica. Others, currently out of stock, are being republished in new, expanded editions by Crossed Crow Books. I also write and supervise various online courses.

I am a member of the National Writers Union and the International Federation of Journalists.

Philosophy

I like to say that my Western astrological signs are “Plato ascendant Nietzsche.” Finding a balance between Platonic idealism and the apparent atheism of Nietzsche has been an essential pursuit in my life.

Graduating in philosophy has been deeply important to me, and teaching this tradition has been equally rewarding. However, philosophy is often taught today as a purely intellectual discipline, unlike in its earliest expressions.

Although many of these philosophies were developed in Greek and Roman civilizations, the discipline is not limited to the study of ancient texts. It is a living heritage that offers practical methods for personal development and a way to understand ourselves outside of a strictly religious framework. Through philosophy, we gain tools that can be applied in daily life to better understand the world and live more harmoniously within it.

Over the years, I have used these tools to support others through counseling, coaching, and teaching. The effectiveness of this approach, compared to modern psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, continues to impress me.

Lecturer

I was 20 years old when a French radio station invited me to host a live series of ten episodes on Ancient Mysteries and Mediterranean traditions. I have been invited to participate in several radio programs in the United States.

Lecturing has always been an important and enjoyable part of my work, and I have delivered presentations around the world (Africa, Europe, South America, and North America).

The subjects vary depending on the audience and purpose of each presentation, but they always relate to my areas of expertise and training. As a philosopher, I strive to present the richness and modern relevance of this tradition in a clear and accessible way—to help people find peace and live a balanced and fulfilling life.

Some may call it motivational speaking or spiritual awakening. It is always inspiring to see how reason and belief can work together to bring out the best in each individual.

As an expert in religious and initiatory rituals, I also present these topics to specialized audiences such as Freemasons, Humanists, and the general public.

I am fluent in English and French and can also understand Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian.

Yoga, Meditation, and Creative Visualization

Since the 1970s, I have studied and practiced hypnotism, as well as pranayama, yoga nidra (a deep relaxation technique associated with guided visualization), and meditation.

I began teaching these techniques and was invited to participate in several radio programs to discuss these topics. I also studied hypnotism and dream interpretation, progressively mastering the techniques of creative visualization.

Eager to explore the deeper aspects of the human psyche, I earned certification and practiced oneirology and hypnotherapy.

Today

In recent years, I have deepened my practice of yoga, including yoga nidra.

I am a certified yoga teacher registered with the “Yoga Alliance” (E-RYT 500 - YACEP) and the “International Yoga Federation.”

Together with my wife Patricia, also a yoga teacher, we lead the yoga organization “Mediterranean Yoga,” officially recognized by the “International Yoga Federation.”

Freemasonry

Eager to explore the Western initiatory Mysteries from within, I was initiated into Freemasonry in 1990. I am a Master Mason (raised in 1992) and a Past Master. I have been a member of Grand Lodges in Canada, the G.L.F.A.A.M. of the District of Columbia, and the Grand Lodge of the State of Nevada (USA). I currently belong to the United Grand Lodge of England, Province of East Lancashire, Lodge No. 9659.

While living in France, and prior to joining American Freemasonry, I served as a Grand Officer of the Grand Orient de France (the largest Masonic organization in France). I have received all the degrees of Egyptian Freemasonry (33°–95°–A.A.), as well as other allied degrees.

I also received the 32 degrees of the American Scottish Rite in Washington, D.C., and was exalted in the Royal Arch in Canada.

Mediterranean Diet

The Mediterranean diet is one of the most widely recognized and respected approaches to healthy living, endorsed by organizations such as the American Heart Association.

After following a strictly vegetarian diet for more than 15 years during the 1980s, I returned to this ancient, balanced, and enjoyable way of eating.

Traveler

I was 18 years old when I received my first passport. Since then, I have traveled to many countries around the world, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean region.

The 1980s were a time when it was still possible to visit countries such as Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon without significant risk. Today, things are very different, but I continue to travel and explore—discovering new cultures, people, beliefs, traditions, as well as food and wine.

As someone once said, life is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. I have always been curious about what lies beyond the horizon.
